It all begins with an invitation like this one:
Can you think of a better concept idea to celebrate NYE…?
Because we don’t.
I do admit that this whole Gatsby thing was really kinda popular these days.
Both high street industry shops and Haute – Couture boutiques, from Zara to Lanvin were all over 1920′s inspired outfits & Gatsby style accessories.
So this REALLY stimulated our fashion appetite.
1920′s hair was our first thing in our “GATSBY TO-DO-LIST”
Woop Woop! Let’s get started!
Looking cute and all curly.
Don’t freak out – it looked REALLY good once finished!
Seriously.
Time to get that “Flapper Glamour” on my face.
Possibly the most important part of the Flapper look: the lips!
Go for a really dark and dramatic lipstick and make sure to emphasize your lips’ shape with lip liner.
Go for some serious smudgy, smokey eye-makeup.
Finish with some dark mascara and false eyelashes, to really make a statement.
By the way, did you know that several make up brands such as Max Factor Elizabeth Arden and AVON were all popular among flappers in the 1920′s?
Anyway, once the make- up is done, you need to start looking for the dress.
And that was NOT an easy project to accomplish, i can tell you that.
You will need to make a good market research before concluding to THE ultimate “flapper” dress for the big night.
Look out for – dropped waistlines (VERY important to the Flapper style), plunging necklines, plunging backs, and sleeveless dresses.
Material wise, go for beaded material, sequined material, and flowery material.
Some inspiration to get into the “Golden Age Twenties” mood.
Without accessories a dress is just a dress.
The right accessories makes a so-so dress into a smashing Gatsby success.
Let’s start at the top and work our way down.
Looking loud & proud, full of glamour.
Almost ready.
Tiny but all glamorous Valentino clutch bag to fit your lipstick, powder and a small amount of cash.
Nothing further needed.
Almost done.
Time to grab your marabou feathers and hit the party.
YES!
Let’s get this party started.
It was called the “roaring twenties” for a reason.
Enjoy!
Glamorous guests arriving.
Loving friends P. Kondylatos & Vassilis Zoulias making quite an entrance along with designer Chara Lebessi.
One of the things we all adored in this party was the glitter.
Seriously: TONS OF GLITTER.
The more the better.
Another thing that amazed me about that night was the fact that EVERYONE looked so beautiful, bright and festive.
All “Gatsby” glamorized, head to toe.
Our red carpet moment, looking all shinny and happy.
Garments: e-outfit.com handcrafted silver sequin dress, ASOS black flapper dress and tuxedo by Mi-Ro.
Celebrating like the “Roaring Twenties”.
Party snapshots:
Happy New Year!
Fallen asleep in 2013, woke up in the 1920′s.
Careless and free spirit, beautiful people, lively music, decadent food and tons of champagne.
Decadence mood.
Gatsby customized photobooth stripes.
Hurray!
Coolest guy in the party.
Gatsby inspired golden hand – cuff.
Love it.
Girl – Power in 1920′s mood.
Hell yeah!
Our favorite ginger head in “Gatsby” mood, looking beautiful.
Glamorous comfetti mess everywhere.
Make up remainings from an epic night.
Wishing you a Happy New Year, full of amazing moments.
Thank you for the unforgettable party guys.
We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2014.
Take care and make sure you always party like Gatsby.
Goodnight kiss.
